These robes were created during a time of global isolation. A longing for community and nature was in the air. Our patterns are kimono-inspired, with hand-painted and hand-screen-printed hemp linen. An exciting project, where we painted and printed separately, and then we collaged them together. The pieces appeared to fit seamlessly. A laborious, clean, and durable traditional French seam connects our designs together. Sewing one connection three times, and heat pressing the fabric twice. Wanting to connect further, we collaborated with choreographer Angelica DeWitt, photographer Aaron Morganstein, and sound artist Umberto to make a video in the Malibu mountains. The robes symbolize nature, connection, and balance. They are meant to be worn and shared.
